The Allen-Bradley 2711P-B12C4D8 PanelView Plus 6 is an operator terminal that allows real-time interaction between machines or processes and operators. It features a 12.1 inch active-matrix TFT color display with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and supports dual input interfaces – a touchscreen and a stainless steel domed membrane keypad with 40 numeric, navigation, and function keys from F1 to F20 and K1 to K20.

The terminal contains two USB ports, an integral RS-232 serial electrical isolated port, and an Ethernet electrical isolated communication port for uploading/downloading applications and printing. It also includes 512 MB random access memory (RAM) for runtime applications and 512 MB nonvolatile flash memory. The memory Type I CompactFlash cards can be used to save and store applications.

The 2711P-B12C4D8 PanelView Plus 6 model provides modular components configuration that includes a display module, a logic module, DH+/DH-485, and ControlNet communication modules. The unit uses 2711-NC14, 2711-NC13, and 1585J-M type cables for communication with PLC-5, SLC, and MicroLogix controllers.

The Allen-Bradley 2711P-B12C4D8 terminal is designed to meet the NEMA Type and IEC enclosure ratings and should be installed in panels or enclosures using mounting clips to preserve the internal circuitry. It can operate at a temperature range of 0 degrees to 55 degrees Celsius (32 degrees to 131 degrees Fahrenheit) for indoor and outdoor applications and weighs approximately 3.4 kilograms (7.6 pounds) while shipping.

To operate the terminal, it must be supplied with an input supply voltage range of 18-32 Volts DC. The internal memory available to this operator terminal is 512 MB Random Access Memory (RAM) and 512 MB Non-Volatile memory with approximately 79 MB as free user memory. The non-volatile memory may be increased with the use of Secure Digital (SD) cards with catalog number of 1784-SDx that is supported by a hot-swappable SD card slot. Additionally, removable storage may be installed.

The 2711P-B12C4D8 PanelView Plus 6 model is built with EtherNet/IP (Ethernet Industrial Protocol) which is an open industrial network that supports real-time I/O messaging and message exchange. The Ethernet port connects to a controller on an EtherNet/IP network using both the network and standard Ethernet connections, allowing for application transfers and printing. The EtherNet/IP screen displays and allows the user to modify some of the EtherNet/IP communication settings for a PanelView terminal. The 2711P-RN20 Ethernet communication module is available for the 400 to 1500 terminals if another Ethernet port is required. The module has its own unique IP address, and this port has an RJ45, 10/100Base-T connector for network communication and supports MDI/MDI-X connections. The parameters are downloaded with the application.
