The Allen-Bradley 22B-D010N104 PowerFlex 40 is a 3-phase Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) drive. The AC module operates with a voltage of 480 Volts AC and 10.0 Amps. It has a panel mount with a power of 4.0 kW and a horsepower of 5.

It can be panel mounted with an IP20 and NEMA/UL type open enclosure.

The module has a fixed digital keypad for human interfacing(LED Display).

The PowerFlex 40 module has sensorless vector control to achieve extraordinary control over speed and the ability to deliver high torque with widely varying speeds. The autotune feature works by adjusting the drive to the individual characteristics of the motor. Even at low frequencies, the drive is able to provide more current using variable PWM.

It has a timer, counter, basic logic, and StepLogic functions that are easy to implement and save money by reducing hardware requirements.

The drive has no CE compliant filter.

The drive has two analog inputs – one unipolar and one bipolar. They are individually isolated from the remaining drive I/O and the two are interchangeable with a digital signal. Three fixed and four completely programmable digital inputs also impart great flexibility to the drive.

The analog output is selected with a DIP switch for a current range of 0 to 20 milliamperes or voltage of 0 to 10 Volts. The output is 10-bit which is ideal for metering or speed reference data for other drives on the system. Two opto outputs and one form C relay output are typically used for the status of drives, motors, or logic functions.

The drive benefits from the DSI Wireless Interface Module, which can communicate with pocket PC, laptop computers, or in-range desktop computers with Bluetooth wireless technology. It also supports other Allen-Bradley devices that have DSI protocols.

The 22B-D010N104 is very compact, versatile, and cost-effective and also supports a human Interface Module (HIM) that gives users ease of use to control, configure, and monitor the drive.
