The 5069-IF8 is an analog input module for Compact I/O. It features a total of eight differential input channels. The producer-consumer network communication paradigm is used in this module. This sort of communication is intelligent in the sense that it exchanges data between modules and other connected devices, with each module producing data without being polled first. When this module is operated by users with the Logix 5000 control system, the owner-controller stores configuration data for each of its modules, which is then backed up in a location beside the 5069 Compact Input or Output system, and also transfers the configuration data of the Input or Output module to define the behavior of the module and start running.
