The Allen-Bradley 1734-IE4C module is a POINT I/O 4-channel high-density current input module. It is an analog module that can sustain channel-level diagnostics (electronic bits and LED indicators). It also features Delta-Sigma conversion of analog data to signed integer format, channel-level data alarming (4 set-points per channel); and scaling to different engineering units. This adapter supports the rack-optimized connections between CompactLogix controllers or ControlLogix and discrete I/O modules in the same chassis. via the backplane, it can also create direct connections between the internet-capable connection originator and input/output modules.

The 1734-IE4C is an Allen-Bradley POINT I/O module that features Four (4) single-ended, analog input modules that is compatible with electrical signals such as 0 to 20 mA or 4-20 mA. Its input resolution is 16 bits at 0 to 21 mA, 0.32 microA/cnt.

This has a maximum power dissipation of 0.6 watts at 28.8V DC and a maximum thermal dissipation of 2.0 BTU/hr.

Its key switch position is 3, and the compatible thermal base units include the 1734-TOP, 1734-TOPS, 1734-TB, and the 1734-TBS.

The 1734-IE4C is grounded via the DIN rail to the chassis ground. To ensure proper grounding, use DIN rails that are zinc-plated yellow-chromate steel. Secure the DIN rail to the mounting surface approximately every 7.8 inches or 200 millimeters and use the end anchors correctly.
The 1734-IE4C module can be installed before or after the base is secured. The insertion or removal of the module should be done while backplane power is switched off to avoid the occurrence of electrical arcs.

This module interfaces with process variables represented by external analog signals. The external analog signal is passed through a converter using Delta-Sigma conversion.
Using 16-Bit Signed Integer data format, the processed data is given a new value ranging from -32768 to +32767. This integer value is also known as Raw value which is used by the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) to process logic.

This module has an intuitive front panel that provides quick information and diagnostics for the module’s operation.
It has an integrated Module status LED that provides information as to whether an active power supply is detected by the module, the Device is operating normally, and needs commissioning due to incorrect configuration, recoverable fault or a non-recoverable fault. The Network status LED indicates if the device is online, online without active connection and online with active connections. The channel status LED indicates if the module is in CAL mode, Normal or out of range.

The compatible terminal base for this analog input module is a 1734-TB or 1734-TBS POINT I/O Two (2) piece terminal base or 1734-TOP or 1734-TOPS POINT I/O one-piece terminal base.

The 1734-IE8C has a dimension of 56.0 x 12.0 x 75.5 mm (2.21 x 0.47 x 2.97 in.) and weighs 50 g (1.76 oz).

Provided the recommended terminal base, use signal wires with 0.25…2.5 mm. sq. (22…14 AWG) solid or stranded copper wire rated at 100 ° C (212 ° F), or greater, 1.2 mm (3/64 in.) insulation.
