The Allen-Bradley 5069-OB16 is a discrete output module that belongs to the Compact 5069 I/O product family. The 5069-OB16 has a total of 16 sourcing channels and can connect to other components of the industrial automation system. It is highly versatile and can be used in conjunction with any combination of devices in the control system. The device is designed to minimize electrical losses and has a maximum thermal dissipation of 11.09 British Thermal Units (BTU) per hour. It features Filed Power Loss detection, No Load detection, Output short circuit, Output overload and over-temperature detection, Reverse polarity detection, and Overvoltage detection. The module weighs around 175g (0.39 lb) and has no specific enclosure requirements. It can be mounted on a chromate-passivated steel DIN rail, and its modular design ensures that stringent space requirements do not need to be met to house the component. The Allen-Bradley 5069-OB16 has an ESD immunity of 6 kV in contact discharges and 8 kV in air discharges.
The 5069-OB16 outputs can be controlled even if the controller or module has entered Fault mode, Program mode, and fault state. Configurable states include Hold Last State, On, and Off, which is the default setting. The device is highly compact and functions on a digital platform to accentuate the efficiency of the control system. It is compatible with devices operating at 12-24VDC and has a minimum On-state voltage of 10VDC and a maximum of 32VDC, with a minimum On-state current of 1 mA per channel.
