The Allen-Bradley Compact 1769-IQ16 module belongs to the series of 1769 Compact I/O modules that can be used as an expansion input/output with a Micrologix 1500 controller assembly with either a 1769-ADN DeviceNet adapter, an AENTR Ethernet adapter, or a CompactLogix controller. If the module is not connected to a MicroLogix 1500 base, its bank will need to include and provide its own power supply. The module includes a finger safe terminal block for the connections with sensors. When the module is locked to the others, the overall system becomes a rugged assembly.

The 1769-IQ16 module is used as an input module for industrial standard 24 volt DC signals that can be either accessed as single bits or as one word of 16 bits. The actual range for the incoming input signals must be between 10 and 30 volts DC.
