The Allen-Bradley 2080-LC30-24QBB is a Micro830 Logic Controller, a cost-effective control solution for small end-users and machine builders applications. It features fourteen (14) 24-Volt DC/AC inputs and ten (10) 24-Volt output points, allowing for a maximum digital I/O of 48.

The 2080-LC30-24QBB includes four High Speed Counter (HSC) inputs, customisable plug-in slots, Modbus RTU protocols for the serial ports, an integrated and non-isolated USB 2.0 port for programming (using any standard USB printer cable), a non-isolated serial port (RS232/485), and high speed input interrupts. However, it does not have a base Ethernet/IP port.

This controller can accommodate up to three plug-in modules, enabling machine builders to customise the controller and increase machine functionality without increasing the controller’s footprint. The maximum number of program steps (or instructions) and data (bytes) is 10 Ksteps and 20 Kbytes, respectively.

The 2080-LC30-24QBB’s integrated motion capabilities with 2 axes of motion enables various motion instructions, including up to two 100KHz Pulse Train Outputs (PTO) for low cost wiring to servo drives and steppers, TouchProbe instruction for more precise axis positioning, and single axis moves supported via Motion Function Blocks. Motion is made easier through MoveVelocity, home and position instructions, and graphical configuration of motion parameters.

This controller also includes password protection for enhanced security. Power is supplied to the 2080-LC30-24QBB via a base unit with a 24 Volt DC power supply. Additionally, an optional external 120 to 240 Volts AC power supply can be used. The minimum and maximum operating temperatures for this unit are -20 degrees Celsius and 65 degrees Celsius, respectively.
